Donna W. Smith began her love for all things quilting in 1998 when she attended her first International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX. Her first major undertaking was a memory quilt for her mom and dad’s 50th anniversary in 2000. To see if she really had the commitment, her next project was a king sized bed quilt. She was hooked but realized early on the need for longarm quilting services with reasonable prices and turn-around times.
When the Smith’s were given the opportunity to move to Northern Colorado, Donna knew this was her opportunity to start a longarm business. She has been longarming for five years and is always updating her skills with training. She has taken classes from nationally known teachers including Dawn Cavanough, Myrna Ficken and Linda Taylor. She is a member of the International Machine Quilter’s Association.
Donna uses a 2008 APQS Millennium which is a stitch regulated machine that produces high quality stitches and beautiful free-motion quilting. In 2007, she added computerized quilting capabilities with CompuQuilter. She can provided affordable Edge to Edge quilting as well as include intricate motifs with free-form fillers in more custom applications.

Donna truly sees her quilting as a collaboration with her customer much like a tattoo artist. It’s her artistry on your canvas and that collaboration is very important.
Donna and her husband have one son. Donna has a not-much-used PhD in Meteorology. She is active in her church and community and is a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) where she advocates for children who are in the court system due to abuse or neglect.
